Adding the Quick Print Button to Outlook 2010

2011-01-22 by Jason

The Quick Print button for the Quick Access Toolbar in Outlook 2010 is a little more hidden than in the other products. In Microsoft Word 2010 or Excel 2010, you can select Quick Print from the drop down menu next to it in order to print your document or worksheet to your default printer without any further dialog options. In Outlook 2010, you can only select ‘Print’, which will bring up the print preview, from the down arrow but not ‘Quick Print’. Here’s how to find the hiding Quick Print button.

Click the down arrow to the right of the Quick Access Toolbar and click on ‘More Commands…’.

This will open up the Outlook Options Window with Quick Access Toolbar highlighted on the left side. From the ‘Choose commands from:’ drop-down, choose All Commands. On the list below that, scroll down until you alphabetically find ‘Quick Print’. Click it once so it is highlighted and then click the Add >> button.

When you’re done adding any shortcuts you want to the Quick Access Toolbar, hit Ok and you should see the Quick Print button on the toolbar. Note the green checkmark over the printer designates the Quick Print function versus the Print with Preview function.
