Fiesta.cc is email lists made easy

2011-12-22 by Jason

Trying to coordinate the holidays is a good reminder of the complications that exist with our current communications. If somebody doesn’t quite get the “reply to all” and leaves somebody out or somebody constantly has to forward messages along to somebody that should have been included in the first place, it just leads to a nightmare and horrible communication experience.

An email list for a group of people can greatly simplify communications and Fiesta.cc simplifies email lists.

Your email lists with fiesta.cc are free and without ads. They’re a breeze to setup and manage. If you want to create an email list, you just sign up for one, say 404TSfans@fiesta.cc. You then add the email addresses you want to receive messages sent to this group list and it’s all set. You can manage your lists from the fiesta.cc website (linked to in the signature of every e-mail) or modify your list just by CCing your list when you send to others not included in the list.

Fiesta’s approach is decentralized. Anybody that is part of the list can add members to the list to make sure everybody is included without having to go through the person that created the list. Only those that are part of the list can send emails to the list. Anybody can also unsubscribe themselves from the list if they don’t want to take part in the conversations.

You can use any name you want for your email list. Yes, any name you want. It doesn’t even have to be unique because the system is smart enough to figure out what list is intended based on the sender of the email. We could all have a family@fiesta.cc list and there would be no conflicts (unless you were part of two ‘family’ lists). Each list member can even name the list to whatever they would like.

You can also setup a custom subdomain for your e-mail lists to give it a little more personal or professional touch.

If this is something you take the initiative to setup over the holidays while you’re seeing family or find the email lists useful for teams, study groups, projects, or friends, then Fiesta.cc is a pretty simple way of setting up a collaborative email list on the fly.
