The cell phone industry has come up with their own kill switch system to devalue the stolen smartphone market. That only takes care of the thieves that steal your phone to sell it or use it themselves.

This infographic shows cybercriminals can gain from your smartphone even while it’s still in your possession. Premium rate devices, botnets, spying on you or your data are all other reasons that your smartphone might be seen as the weak link to get to you.
