Internet Explorer Enterprise Mode Site List schema 2 improves readability

Microsoft released a new version of the Internet Explorer Enterprise Mode Site List tool within the past few months. It finally came time to update my list, so I installed the latest tool and updated the list. The big change is that you can specify which browser a URL should open in. For example, if you need a site to open in IE but the end-user opened it in Edge, the Enterprise Mode list can automatically relaunch the site in Internet Explorer. This is alongside the previously available compatibility modes such as IE9 document mode and others.

The smaller change with the new release is actually the schema change. You can still download the old client to use the new schema but I recommend making the jump to schema v.2. The readability is drastically improved. This makes it easier to statically parse the generated file to make sure that it matches what you need. You can see examples of both files in screenshots below.

You can learn more about Enterprise Mode from TechNet or download the Enterprise Mode Site List Manager (schema v.2) to dive right in.
