Distracted driving can lead to injury, destruction, and even death. A new app called Text To Ticket has launched to try to curb this danger.
With Text To Ticket, you can record a video of a distracted driver (and their license plate) and submit it to the company. They then confirm the incident and necessary information and then forward it on to the local law enforcement agency. For your trouble, you will get paid a small reward ($5). The Text To Ticket service is currently in beta with the app available on iPhone and Android. Several municipalities in California are accepting submissions from Text to Ticket. Be sure that you are a passenger or pedestrian when you’re recording and not a distracted driver yourself.
