At Mobile World Congress, SanDisk introduced two new computer accessories. A new microSD card allows incredibly fast transfer speeds and a USB drive jumps to the next generation with USB Type-C.

According to the press release, the new microSD card will be released Q2 in the US. It will be available in 64GB and 128GB capacities at $179.99 and $299.99 MSRPs, respectively. The microSD is the SanDisk Extreme PRO microSDXC UHS-II card. It allows transfer speeds of up to 275MB/s. This will allow new devices like action cameras, drones, and smartphones to read and write data very quickly, including high quality 4K content. The card will also include a USB 3.0 card reader to allow reading the files on a computer.

In a separate press release, SanDisk also introduced a new USB Type-C flash drive. The SanDisk Ultra USB Type-C Flash Drive is designed for new devices that utilize the new USB standard. It is more compact, available on new devices, and symmetrical. These drives from SanDisk promise USB 3.1 performance, up to 150MB/s. The drive is slim and retractable to improve durability of the connector. The drive also features a five-year warranty. It is available currently at Amazon, priced significantly below MSRP.
