Adblock Browser for Android and iOS

Adblock Plus, the browser extension that hides ads, has released a browser for both Android and iOS operating systems. The Adblock Browser brings that same functionality to mobile devices for the security, privacy, bandwidth -conscious. It includes the option to disable tracking, disable visiting domains serving malware, disable social media buttons, and disable anti-adblocking messages, in addition to blocking ads from loading.

The company behind Adblock Plus and the Adblock Browser, Eyeo GmbH, issues two press releases for the announcement, one for Android and one for iOS. The Adblock Browser works on Android 2.3 or newer and iOS 8 and newer.

“Now that we’re in the App Store with Adblock Browser for iOS, all the speculation can end. It has been very important for us to deliver our ad-blocking app to our iOS users who do more and more web surfing from mobile devices,” said Till Faida, co-founder of Adblock Plus. “With the popularity of the iOS platform in places like the US, we considered it critical to offer an app in the Apple App Store. We’re thankful to Apple for working with us on this project and we look forward to their new iOS 9, which will give web developers additional ad-blocking tools. It’s a big step for this industry.”

The browser has its own website at adblockbrowser.org where you can find links to Apple’s App Store and Google Play where you can download the app at no cost.
