Intel publishes Remote Keyboard for Android

Intel recently published a new app for Android devices. It turns your Android device into a keyboard and mouse for a computer. Intel provides the app for its Intel NUCs and the Intel Compute Stick. The keyboard app adds to the versatility of these small form factors.

The keyboard app provides a touchpad and a keyboard, including the Windows key and arrow keys.

To left-click, you tap with one finger. To right-click, you tap with two fingers. You can scroll with an intuitive swipe up or down.

To control the keyboard on a computer, you must install the Intel Remote Keyboard Host App. It is available for Windows 8.1 32-bit and 64-bit. While the app is intended for the Intel Compute Stick or Intel NUC Kits, it works on other Windows 8.1 computers and can save some screen real estate on tablets like the Surface Pro 3. Instead of using the on-screen keyboard, you can use the Intel Keyboard from a separate Android device.

The free Intel Remote Keyboard app can be downloaded from Google Play. An iOS version is listed as coming soon.
