Oculus Rift shows off final retail version

Oculus Rift, the leading VR gaming headset, made announcements yesterday to show off its final retail version and announce that it is shipping in Q1 2016. They also showed off integrated VR audio, a sensor, and a prototype for tracked game controllers.

Facebook, which bought the company in March 2014, also made the announcement on the Facebook Newsroom. Microsoft added its partnership with the company to make the device work well with games for Windows 10 and Xbox One. The Oculus Rift also ships with an Xbox One controller.

The official website provides many high quality images of the Oculus Rift and accessories, including prototype tracked controllers that would be able to monitor your controllers’ motion in real life and translate them into the game.

Ahead of E3, Oculus has given a detailed breakdown of the hardware and upcoming games in their blog post The Oculus Rift, Oculus Touch, and VR Games at E3.
