HTC One (M9), Samsung Galaxy S6 and other announcements from MWC 2015

With Mobile World Congress 2015, this week is already filled with announcements in the mobile realm.

The Samsung Galaxy S 6 is the latest flagship device for the company. It was also introduced with a sibling device, the Galaxy S 6 Edge. The two phones have very similar internal specs and the Edge expands upon the S 5 Edge by having two rounded screen edges, which could allow intuitive apps to take advantage of the screen visible from the side. The Galaxy S 6 has a release date of April 10th on all major US carriers.

The HTC One (M9) is the other major device trying to win the headlines. It may be falling a little short with its less splashy updates across the components. The main change for the One (M9) over last year’s (M8) is the replacement of the rear camera. The ultra-pixel technology has been moved to the front camera while the rear camera is now a 20MP camera after customer complaints of the ultra-pixel camera not working well in all situations. HTC also introduce the Grip, an activity tracker that is meant to be worn during workouts. It pairs with Under Armour’s fitness app to track your workout and fitness goals.
