Kaspersky created this image to illustrate how even a secure home network can be foiled by insecure endpoints. People may be well versed in keeping their networks secure, using strong passwords, and updating their computers but as the Internet of Things connects more devices, you may also need to update your TVs, printers, tablets, NAS, and other devices so they are not susceptible to attack and become a stepping stone into the rest of your network. Yes, some day, if not already, you will probably have to update your thermostat, microwave, and other appliances and devices.
