Will CSI: Cyber make techies cringe?

CSI taught people a lot about forensics but the show could also be pretty hokey. The case might be solved by the suspect having shoes or tires that are only sold by one place in the region. Other convenient plot devices also carried the story along. Will the next CSI spin-off CSI: Cyber teach people about cybercrime, IT security, and other important aspects of technology? Or will their be bad implementations of technology and nonsensical plot uses like other shows (Numb3rs, NCIS, etc) have done?

CSI is no stranger to spin-offs. They successfully launched CSI: NY and CSI: Miami, both of which have ended now. The premiere of CSI: Cyber is unknown until CBS announces its Fall lineup. The show was launched from an episode earlier this year starring Patricia Arquette, playing a special agent in charge of the FBI cybercrime unit.

CSI: Miami is well known for its meme of putting on sunglasses and saying a corny line. Will we get bad lines like *investigating a burnt body* “It looks like somebody forgot to put their firewall in place.”?
