Samsung reveals their Galaxy S5 Android smartphone and three new Gear

At Mobile World Congress 2014 today, Samsung unveiled the Samsung Galaxy S5 along with the Galaxy Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo, and Gear Fit in the wearable technology category.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 is an incremental update to the Galaxy S4. It’s more evolutionary than revolutionary but it does bring some new components to be excited about.

For starters, the Galaxy S5 is a 5.1 inch full HD 1080p AMOLED screen. The case remains plastic but is now water and dust resistant with more colors and an imprint on the back. The smartphone’s rear camera is 16MP with fast autofocus, HDR, and selective focus. The camera can also record 4K video. For connectivity, the Galaxy S5 has LTE cellular connections and supports 802.11ac and 2×2 MIMO for Wifi. It is running Android 4.4.2 Kitkat and is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core snapdragon processor.

The Galaxy Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo update the original Gear. It allows receiving or ignoring phone calls, has a built-in camera and other sensors, and has a growing list of other capabilities. The Gear 2 Neo is slightly lighter but otherwise seems to have the same capabilities. Both smartwatches are available in Charcoal Black and Wild Orange. The Gear 2 is also available in Gold Brown while the Gear 2 Neo is also available in Mocha Grey.

The Samsung Gear Fit is the wearable tech designed with the active person in mind. It is lighter and slimmer than the other Gear. It features similar sensors and other phone pairing capabilities/notifications.
