Previous Chrome Experiments have included sporting events and a Super Monkey Ball knock-off.
The latest experiment is called Roll It and allows you to play skee ball using a smartphone and your computer in conjunction.
Bring the boardwalk to the browser using Chrome and your phone’s accelerometer to recreate an arcade classic across two screens.
Similar to the previous experiments, you visit the Chrome Experiment in both your desktop Chrome browser and Chrome on your smartphone. The desktop will provide a code for you to enter at g.co/rollit in order to sync your phone and the browser together. Once the phone is synced to the browser, you can choose how many players there will be, 1-3. Even in a 3-player game, you use one desktop and one phone, you just pass the phone to the next person.
The game utilize’s the phone’s accelerometer, so you are actually swinging the phone like you would a ball for playing Skee Ball. I foresee some Wiimote-like incidents hurling the phone at your monitor. You aim using your phone and pointing a dial at a certain angle. You then swing your arm, phone-in-hand, and watch the ball fly on the screen hopefully into the hole you were aiming for.
From the top image, you can see that the traditional skee ball lane is much the same that you would find at your local arcade or carnival. You can play through multiple rounds and the lane changes to different designs for a different challenge.
