Four easter eggs in Google Search for the Holidays

Easter eggs might be more fitting for that other holiday but Google seemed to think they would also go well with the holidays around this time of year: Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Festivus.

The easter egg we saw this time last year for ‘let it snow’ seems to have been retired but in its place each holiday gets a little something on the search results page.

Christmas – The search results for ‘christmas’ are bordered by a line of hanging ornaments.

Hanukkah (and different ways of spelling it) offers a different row of symbols above the Web, Images, Maps… line. This one features stars of David.

Kwanzaa – This decorative line features the seven candles or Mishumaa Saba.

Festivus, for the rest of us, as may recall comes from the TV series Seinfeld. Instead of showing a horizontal decorative line, it features the Festivus pole running along the left-hand side of the search results with “A festivus miracle!” appended to the search result count.

Happy holidays to all, no matter which holiday you celebrate!
