If you have been using Windows 8 or Server 2012 so far, you are probably already familiar with Internet Explorer 10. The preview of the web browser’s latest version is available for Windows 7 SP1 and Server 2008 R2. The preview is intended as an opportunity for web developers to test their sites and IT Pros to test their web applications against this latest version before it is made available generally or released via Windows Updates. The new security features could possibly interfere with how an application runs and changes to HTML 5 and CSS interpretation could result in broken sites.
Internet Explorer 10 supports enhanced memory protection and the HTML5 sandbox attribute, as well as Enhanced Protected Mode.
The sandbox attribute enables security restrictions for iframe elements that contain untrusted content. These restrictions enhance security by preventing untrusted content from performing potentially malicious actions. Enhanced Protected Mode provides additional security. It’s enabled by default in Internet Explorer, and can be enabled for Internet Explorer for the desktop via Group Policy and Internet Options on the Tools menu.
