Windows 8 Under the Influence and Brother’s Printer Orchestra

Windows 8 has a learning curve with the new interface. After a while, you can pick it up but knowing that things are hanging off the edge if you put your mouse in the correct corner is not intuitive. Interactions with the Windows 8 Apps are even more obscure. How do you get to what you’re looking for and how do you know you’ve checked all the possible locations?

To hammer home the point, here’s a user interface study performed by a company that gets a user drunk and then asks them to complete certain tasks with Windows 8. It demonstrates that some interactions are frustrating and not intuitive. Windows 8 apps are a whole new ball game.

What’s next? Does the learning curve catch up to Windows 8 in time for Windows 9 or does Microsoft make improvements to its next version of the operating system as it did for Vista to Windows 7?

As an encore, here is a Brother commercial using photocopiers, scanners, fax machines, printers, hard drives, modems, and more to make music.
