If you’re familiar with the concept of the ‘Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon‘, you can appreciate Google’s latest web of information. You can now search for an actor’s “Bacon Number”. The results will then tell you how many degrees of separation there are between the person you searched and Kevin Bacon. The original theory states that “any two people on Earth are, on average, six acquaintance links apart.” The Kevin Bacon slightly twists it to be based on Hollywood stars that have worked with Kevin Bacon or worked with others who worked with Kevin Bacon.
To find an actor’s “Bacon Number”, just search ‘bacon number [actor’s name]. The majority of actors I could think of and scanned IMDb had a Bacon number of 1 or 2. Even what I considered obscure actors and actresses, seemed to land in the two range. I kept search for somebody that would be more degrees away.
Of course, Kevin Bacon’s Bacon Number is zero.
