Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion now available in the App Store

You can now find OS X Mountain Lion available for purchase from the App Store. The update, as stated at its announcement, runs $19.99. It is 4.05 GB in size and can be installed on Macs running 10.6.8 or later.

Following Lion’s download-only approach, Mountain Lion is only available through the App Store. The update includes over 200 new features and continues taking steps of the seeming merger of OS X and iOS.

Apple has hit the highlights with a press release. You can find out more about the new features at Apple’s Mac OS X page but I’m sure if you were interested, you would be well read on the details already. Instead, you can find OS X Mountain Lion in the App Store by just searching Mountain Lion or from the banner at the top of the Featured section.

Happy updating!

In other Apple news, the company announced their 3rd quarter results yesterday and declared a $2.65 dividend per common share. By the numbers, Apple sold 26 million iPhones and 17 million iPads.
