Google will live stream Google Fiber announcement 11AM Central Time

The Google Fiber site has been updated to a Save the Date announcement for at least the past week. Tomorrow the announcement will be known and hopefully we will see some more details on Google’s project to deliver high-speed broadband access to Kansas City, Kansas. For those that may not remember, Kansas City was finally chosen after a long deliberation period by Google with some cities doing odd things to get Google’s attention. Google played along by renaming their site Topeka for a day and using Google Fiber as one of their April Fool’s Day jokes.

Unfortunately, some early reports have indicated that Google may not have found spreading the joy of high speed Internet access as easy as they thought. Here’s to hoping that tomorrow’s announcement will be positive and kick off the availability of an ultra high-speed network for the residents of Kansas City with possibly even the chance of expansion to additional communities.

Google.com/Fiber currently redirects to the Save the Date announcement but recently a link has been added to the live stream of the event on YouTube. You can watch it on YouTube.

Feel free to share your thoughts on what the announcement will hold or your analysis afterwards in the comments.
