Google Docs evolves into Google Drive

With 5GB of free cloud storage, Google Drive is the hub for all your stuff: documents, pictures, videos, presentations, the kitchen sink. Access any file type from anywhere—in your home, at the office, on the road and of course, in the cloud. Then share with others so everyone has the latest and greatest available, even if you’re not.

You can pay to upgrade to 20 GB up to 1 TB of storage with an annual subscription. When you upgrade to a paid account, your Gmail storage will also increase to 25GB.

Introducing the all-new Google Drive. Now access your files, even the big ones, from wherever you are. Share them with whomever you want, and edit them together in real time. Learn more at http://drive.google.com/start

Your document list is now part of Google Drive. Watch this short video to learn about syncing your stuff with the desktop application, creating and sharing files, new views and simplified navigation, and more. Find out more at https://drive.google.com/start/

Google Drive fills the gap between your devices and Google apps. You can share your files to anybody. It absorbs your Google Docs files, connects your Android phone, and extends the functionality of Gmail.

The Google Drive app is available in the Google Play store. It is also available for PC and Mac with iPhone/iPad support coming soon.

Drive is built to work seamlessly with your overall Google experience. You can attach photos from Drive to posts in Google+, and soon you’ll be able to attach stuff from Drive directly to emails in Gmail. Drive is also an open platform, so we’re working with many third-party developers so you can do things like send faxesedit videos and create website mockups directly from Drive. To install these apps, visit the Chrome Web Store—and look out for even more useful apps in the future.

Microsoft’s newly updated SkyDrive offers a lot of the same features but it’s hard to beat the excitement of a new Google product, especially with features like synchronizing files to Android phones.
