Zaarly is Craigslist 2.0

If you thought Craigslist was the future of garage sales, the times are already moving on. Check out Zaarly. It’s a location-based community that allows you to announce what you’re looking for or what you have to offer and the price you’re willing to pay. Once you find somebody, Zaarly steps out of the way and lets you work out the details.

It takes Craigslist and makes it faster. It takes eBay and moves it local. It takes the yellow pages and makes them live again.

It’s free to post what you’re looking for (within limits). You aren’t locked into a certain transaction, so you can always negotiate or accept a better offer. You can also post what you’re willing to sell or the services you offer.

You can browse Zaarly right now. It may detect your location and map the offers available in your area. You can also shop other areas. The big hurdle for Zaarly is going to be increasing participation, especially if it wants to move towards the real-time like getting that guy a burger and milkshake. Even in big cities, it seems a bit sparse. The Zaarly mobile apps for iPhone and Android should help its adoption.
