Amazon Starts Black Friday Early, Today Through Friday!

Amazon has already started the Black Friday deals as of this morning. Apparently they couldn’t wait for the end of the week to start the madness. Fortunately, with online shopping there’s a lot less madness or trampling, plus it tends to be quite a bit warmer than standing outside at 5AM. This year’s Black Friday has been dubbed Deals Week and runs today, November 22nd, through Saturday, the 27th. Picking up right where that left off, Cyber Monday deals will be going on November 28th (Sunday) and 29th (Monday). Along with Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals, Amazon also has its Top Holiday Deals entry point, which will be useful the rest of the year, and includes special low prices and lightning deals.

Check out some of the more specific categories that have big discounts this week:

The category I’m most interested in: HDTVs, Blu-ray Disc Players, home audio equipment, and other electronics has top deals every day this week.

My second favorite category, Toys, have 25-50% off the Holiday Toy List, so you’ll be able to find something your kids want.

Of course as a Gadget Freak, I’m tempted by the Kindle but it might also just make the perfect gift for some people. Though I’m quite torn between getting the Sony Reader.

Many Movies and TV shows are 70% off and the category is having Lightning Deals all week.

Of course, Amazon’s book selection is another broad category for the perfect gifts. Amazon has compiled a Best of 2010 list of books to help find your next great read.

Other categories for deals include Music, Clothes, Kitchen & Home, Sports & Outdoors, and Jewelry.

Of course, even if you can’t find the perfect gift at Amazon, your recipient probably can. For the holiday, Amazon has started giving free one-day shipping for gift cards.

Happy shopping and stay warm! Don’t forget Amazon again next week for Cyber Monday deals.
