More Instant WebApps

I covered Google Maps Instant and YouTube Instant previously as new apps taking advantage of APIs and being inspired by Google Instant Search. Courtesy of Jonathan Bouman, here are even more instant apps including a playlist-minded YouTube Instant, PubMed instant search, an instant dictionary, and an instant-powered Wikipedia.

ListandPlay.com

List and Play is a different take on YouTube Instant. It allows you to instantly search videos as you type just like YouTube Instant but it also allows you to add those videos to a play list quickly just by hitting the green plus button. You can then share your playlist with the shortened URL it will create for you.

PMinstant.com

A PubMed instant search. I won’t say it’s the prettiest I’ve seen but PubMed is the search engine for medical interests. Now search it instantly with PMinstant.com.

WikInstant.com

This allows you to use Wikipedia so it pulls up results instantly as you type. It’s pretty insane. It brings back the feeling of flipping through an encyclopedia and finding other things you might be interested in.

Instantionary.com

Powered by the Wiktionary.com project, this can allow you to instantly look up words as you type.

Wikinstant.com is probably my favorite of these sites and the one I’ll probably continue using from now on but they’re all cool new takes on technology.

(Thanks to Jonathan for sharing these sites with 404 Tech Support.)
