Google Updates Google Calendar’s Look, Adds Scheduling Assistant

Google Calendar updates are rolling out. Announced yesterday, the changes include updating the repeating event editor, a scheduling assistant to find free times for meeting participants, and for Google Apps, you’re now able to set working hours. The update also includes, we’re told, significant updates to the code behind the scenes to improve performance and consistency.

The scheduling assistant or ‘Find a Time‘ feature allows you to easily drag your tentative meeting across the adjacent calendars of your meeting attendees until you find the best time. Just drag the translucent blue box to where your meeting fits.

The repeating event editor has also gotten an update. The change now allows repeating events to be configured in a separate section of the event, a top layer, and appears to be much less clumsy in how it’s organized.
