Move on with Ex-blocker, Hide Your Exes on the Internet

Ex-blocker is an add-on for Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome that allows you to move on with your life by blocking you from visiting your Ex-girlfriend/boyfriend’s Twitter, Facebook page, and blog URL. It also whites out any references to the individual on webpages you visit. And if you’re quite the pimp, you can block up to five exes with each add-on.

To use Ex-blocker, you just visit the site, choose your browser, and fill out the form with your ex’s information. For an example (and somebody I wouldn’t mind blocking), let’s use Justin Bieber.

After you add all the people you want to block, hit the Download your blocker! button. With Firefox you’ll be prompted that the site wants to install an add-on. If you trust Ex-blocker, you can say to allow and then go through the Install add-on prompt that comes up to install it.

Once you restart Firefox, you’ll see an Ex Blocked! message if you try to visit the Facebook, Twitter, or blog site’s you entered. You are given the option to unblock, which will just remove the filtering.

In the case of Facebook, it’s a layered approach and you’ll have to unblock individual status updates. Hopefully this gives you plenty of chances to stop yourself.

In the case where you would see the person’s name on a site other than the specifically listed ones, the name is “whited out”.

Use Ex-blocker to get your ex out of sight and out of mind or block the annoying Justin Bieber. You can then move on with your life.
