Simple Tip: Make all Windows folders look like you want

If you prefer to change the view in your Windows Explorer’s folders to Details, Icons, List, or Tiles, but hate having to change it in every window you go to, you can follow these instructions to set it to your preferences for all folders.

Open a folder and right-click on a blank space to open the context menu. Go to view -> and choose your preferred view.

Context menu -> View -> Details (or your preferred)

With your folder now looking as you prefer, go to Tools, Folder Options…

Tools, Folder Options...

Select the ‘View’ tab and hit the ‘Apply to All Folders’ button.

The Folder Options View tab.

It may take a second to disseminate, but now when looking at any folders in Explorer, it should appear as you specified in step 1.
